My typical cook day actually begins the night before. I print the menu, recipes, shopping list and labels. Using my shopping list as a guide, I stock my “spice bucket” with the staples I’ll need. I usually leave my pots, pans, cutting boards, containers, and bowls in the car, but I may need to load up my rice cooker, pressure cooker, etc.

My PC uniform is a short sleeved t-shirt, jeans, a colorful batiked bandana and a chef’s jacket with a bright purple eggplant logo that says “Too Busy to Cook? Dinner Made Simple Personal Chef Service.” I also wear black Dansko Clogs. They are so comfortable that I forget to take them off when I get home.

My PC Mobile is an 8 year-old Ford Windstar Van. I have white graphic lettering on the back window with my company name, website, and phone number. The van works well for the job. I don’t worry about spills, etc., and there’s enough room for everything. In a few months I’ll inherit the SUV my husband drives. The configuration is a little different and I’m worried about how everything will fit.

In the morning I grab my menus, load my 54 qt Igloo rolling cooler up with ice blankets and put it in the car. Every morning I leave home at 7:15 in order to take my daughters to school across town (a 40-minute commute). The girls get dropped off at 8 and it’s off to the grocery store (my favorite part of the day). This is the tricky part-where I shop depends on where I’m cooking and my clients are all over town. My favorite regular grocery store is not near my kids’ school, so sometimes I backtrack towards home to buy groceries before heading out to the client’s home. Thankfully, Whole Foods is not far from the school so I swing by there for special items or I’ll do all the shopping there if the client is all-organic. I must add that the new Whole Foods in Austin is the largest ANYWHERE and it is totally awesome. I could spend the whole day there. My favorite regular grocery store is a “Super HEB” with a cooking kiosk that is staffed by a couple of chefs that I have come to know really well. We trade recipes and talk food and they’re always happy to give me a tip or two. Oh, and I get to sample many of their wonderful recipes.

I arrive at my clients around 10:00 a.m. And typically get finished cooking by 2:00 p.m. Between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. I am cooling and packaging the last meals, cleaning up and packing up. I head over to the school and pick the girls up at 3:30. It would be great if geographically everything was in the same area (school, store, clients, and home), but even with everything spread out the schedule works really well for me and the day just FLIES by! If I have cooked for a client, say, more than twice, I can usually leave the client’s home by 2:00 or 2:30. When this happens I reward myself with a trip to Starbucks-get a latte, people-watch, pop open my laptop, catch up on email or do some internet shopping…. Ah, the life!

Unlike textbooks and classroom lectures, another source of learning for students are there internships. Internships or also called on the job training is an academic program designed for students to get actual experience in working or handling a job. Aside from classroom learning, it is also important for students to be able to experience what it feels like to be in the real world work environment.

Some of the lessons that can be learned in internships that your teachers cannot teach students is how to manage actual work related problems. Aside from that, not only do students encounter problems at work, but they also encounter different personalities and kinds of people that they will have to learn to deal with professionally. More over, they will also get to apply all the knowledge they have acquired through the years of study, and practically evaluate within themselves if they already have the sufficient knowledge and skills they need to pursue a career after graduation.

I wanted to see if there were any Nurse Manager Jobs UK that would be good for me to change to. I have been working in the same place for about ten years and have not really gotten enough raises for it to be worth my time to stay any longer. I know that many people that do the same things that I do make far more money than I do. I found this site that was very helpful in making a decision. I found that there are quite a few job openings in my area that pay much better to start than what I was making after ten years of service. I have applied for a few of them and am waiting to hear back to see if I had landed any of them. I really think that it is going to be a great change in my life.
